[sdiy] 606 weirdness - help

Hi All,

my trusty 606 seem to have gone senile. Its been on the
shelf for a bit and starting it up was not too successful the
other night. All the right LEDs light up but when I press 'run'
only the first LED flashes and only one sound is heard
repeating on every step. The LEDs dont scan the sequence as
they should.

Pressing other steps will alter the instrument playing and the
LED will light but again it flashes and sounds on every beat.
Something isn't right.

I have taken it all apart and re soldered the ribbon connections
and the processor - wiggled a few things and gently flexed
each board, I am worried the processor has gone.

I also hope its not my stupidness setting the machine up to write
a track - its not had batteries in for a while.

Has anyone experienced something similar, can anyone offer
any help or advise - I will be grateful for any tips.

Service manual anyone?

Regards

Keith
