You can do this also simply by a very loud clean amp and the right 
guitar. The pickups should not have "microphonic" behaviour to avoid 
feedback, direct from speaker to pickup.

I know a guitar player who plays very long clean sustained guitar by 
having steady contact between the head plate of the guitar and the wood 
of the amplifiers speaker.
