If you are thinking of digital I wouldn't get less than
a four-channel scope*.  To save money, some scopes
have two fully featured channels, and two with just
1V/div or 5V/div.  For example the Tek 22xx or 24xx series
scopes.  They can be had for a few hundred dollars
in the US, not sure about overseas.

*Although two channel with an external trigger is
not a horrible compromise.
