No. The repair service industry can use them to repair old equipment or
any other non RoHS devices. For the most part medical and military
equipment is also exempt. Repair people can still use the old solder too.
I bought a load of non RoHS mains switches from Rapid for 5p each. Each
week they have something new. Do a search on 'non-RoHS' and see what
pops up. Farnell were knocking out non compliant mains transformers the
other week for very little too.
Now you can also sell non compliant sub-systems too if it is to be used
to repair older stuff, or to keep older systems from becoming outdated.
Remember the main object of the WEE directive is to keep lead [and other
nasties] out of landfills. So if you can keep something going for longer
this is a good thing. This presumably means that you are able to sell
non compliant synth modules to people who already have a modular.
