I bought H11F3 at Mouser during the winter in P-DIP package.   It looks like 
they have the Fairchild part (H11F3M) on order, but it's not due to be 
shipped for a while.   I guess it's not as readily available as it used to 
be...

On the bright side, they do seem to have the H11F1 and H11F2 in stock

H11F1, H11F2 and H11F3 are all very similar.   Breakdown voltages and 
resistances vary, but you could probably use any of them to experiment with.
