[sdiy] Linear Expo converter?

I finding in my modular rig, that for some reason, I seem to be desperately
short of exponential control sources.  What is the best way to build a
linear to exponential conveter?  I guess I just want to put something behind
a panel that I patch in the linear and get out the exponential.  What works
best?  Are there any considerations I need to be aware of?  Anyone have a
handy dandy schematic with currently available parts?  Thanks!
