I'm copying this e-mail to your list and SDIY as well.

Yeah i did see that to late, but i did send another copy to SDIY after that.

Cool! I know a bunch of people who's into both SDIY and Circuit Bending but aren't affiliated with any lists or groups as far as i know.

Well, if you ever wanna have a gig at the Hexagon simply send an e-mail to booking at hexagonspace.com, we're trying to be a venue for everyone, especially small local bands so do please submit!
For this particular event i'd want to try to only have bands that incorporates SDIY and/or Circuit Bending into their act. For any band wanting to submit, please include in your e-mail that you want to play for the SDIY/Circuit Bending event - also write whether you're interested in playing just in general as well.

Our venue as of now has a good PA system, and in mid september we should hopefully have an even better one, so that's all good.
We do not have any licenses for neither food nor drink, so far we've done BYOB and we might as well do BYOF (bring your own food) - perhaps like a geek cook-out or something :) We could do catering allthough our space operates on a community level and we do not have a big budget, therefore we cannot really invest >$100 in anything at this point. However, this *might* change if the interest in the event becomes big.
As for cover charge i'd suggest charging something in the realm of $5, this symbolic sum to
a) make sure that any weird people don't fall in through the doors because they get interested in our gear (no i'm not trying to be an ass, but we've had many shows and i know how these things go - not a single accident so far!)
b) be able to pay our bills
our space is operating on a let's-make-no-profit basis so we only try to cover what we need to survive.
As for the shows we usually do 4 bands (from 10 to 2) and performance time is around 30-40 minutes.
As for circuit-bending seminars we need people to volunteer to hold these, get parts, etc. etc. I can definetly do a seminar, i just want to probe for interest first.
The thing is that i was thinking of this only being a one-day event but a FULL day event - this way we should be able to cover all we wanna do, doors at 10-12 maybe. For this reason i'm wondering if doing it sunday is much better then friday, i can see people having problems with getting to our space that early on a friday.
Big synthesists - i don't know, who would that be? Again, if anyone's up to arranging something i'm all for it, i just don't really know where to start with that.
For now, help would be appreciated finding bands, people willing to do workshops, just general ideas and input etc.
Also for people in the Baltimore area; the club is going to be converted into a full-time community where members can put on shows, workshops or do pretty much whatever you want - if interested you should join our first meeting at the club the 3rd of august, also come to our grand opening at the 2nd. Again, check out www.hexaonspace.com
Thanks
Karl
