[sdiy] PLD/GAL programmer?

I have purchased Needham programmers in the past.

However, that link appears to be DEAD...so, it looks like that 
suggestion might not be a good one...I have an EMP-20, which cost me 
about $400 that programs both pals and proms.

Another good suggestion is the Xilinx XC9536.  You can get it in a PLC44 
package, it is equiv to about 4 22V10s, and it is JTAG programable...(in 
circuit).  Runs on 5 volts...(a 3.3 volt version is also availiable). 
It is possible to pick up a JTAG cable for about $25, and the software 
from Xilinx is FREE!.  Get the cable from http://www.digilentinc.com/
