I think what Paul was referring to (and correct me if I'm wrong,  
Paul) was an idea that he'd had about getting some similar new  
hardware together, perhaps based on the Symphony Soundbite dev board.  
That'd provide the ADC/DAC (and even has optical in/out) and the DSP,  
and we'd have to design a MIDI interface and a generalised front  
panel of some type. An LCD, some buttons and as many rotary encoders  
as would fit. I think Paul's original idea was to standardise the  
panel interface so that people could fairly easily design project- 
specific front panels, once they'd got a design working.

It's a good idea, but everyone has tons to do already.
