[sdiy] is there a yearly SYNTH DIY event in the U.S.?

I'd be curious to see other builders meet up in my neck of the woods, the SF Bay Area. Nothing especially well organized, maybe just a gathering at a place like Robotspeak (http://www.robotspeak.com/).
