No. I clean *everything* with 90% alcohol (ethanol or methanol).
Trust me, if it melted plastic, I would know it.

Now, there may be some polymers out there that are soluble in
ethanol or methanol, but they're obviously not in common use.

That said, if soapy water works for you, by all means use it.
