[sdiy] Sequencers anyone?

Hideeho all,

I've been thinking about (among other things) modules to build to sell. I'm not talking about ripping off someone else's idea or anything. I want to make something that would be, if not new, interesting enough that people would want. So, I'm thinking sequencer. Yeah, I know, there's lots of sequencers out there, most of the professional ones are really expensive and the DIY have lots and lots of wiring that will drive anyone crazy after a while. Well, I'm crazy already and don't mind doing a lot of wiring, and I want to offer some thing completed that won't break the bank. Something that would be about $250 at most.

This brings me to the most important thing. What do you want in a sequencer? number of steps, number of channels, trigger and gate outputs, cascadability, individual outputs from each step? sky's the limit. I think the only thing I'm not comfortable promising is anything to do with MIDI... I really don't have the skills to mess with that. I will try my hand at anything else though. And I will offer just the PCB(s) as well as free schematics since this is SDIY and you all are very wonderful people.

-Ian
