I think it is worth bearing in mind, that how accurate the compensation must
be, depends on the range of temperature that the relevant transistors will
be operating over.
If someone is manufacturing synths for sale, then you have to get it right
over a wide range.
But for someone who is going to use the unit only in a fixed place, with air
con and heating, then the whole thing is much less critical.
And also note that if the coefficient of the tempco is out by say 1%, that
doesn't mean that your oscillator is going to be out by 1% - it means that
the error is going to be corrected, just not quite as accurately as it might
have been.
