As a side note, Alan Douglas also wrote Electronic Music Production in
1973, covering the academic side of electronic music such as the RCA
Electronic Music Synthesizer Mark II, computer based composing systems
as well as commercial systems such as the VCS3 and the Synthi-100.
Since the first edition of The Electronic Musical Instrument Manual
dates from 1947, this has to qualify Alan Douglas as one of the earliest
electronic music DIY hobbyists!
