[sdiy] Help with Hammond Solovox service info

There are several books on pre-synthesizer electronic instrument design
that could be of interest to the general synthesizer audience, since
they also cover synthesizer precursors such as Theremins, Ondes
Martenot, Trautonium and the Solovox.

Electronic Musical Instruments by Richard H. Dorf (I have the second
edition copyright 1958). It shows instrument photos, internal assembly
photos, partial schematics and has detailed circuit descriptions of
these instruments. It has a 9 page chapter on the Hammond Solovox.
Unfortunately the chapter in my copy suffers from a "double printing"
from wet ink on adjacent pages, so it is difficult to read.

The Electronic Musical Instrument Manual by Alan Douglas (I have the
fifth edition from 1968). This book has complete schematic pullouts of
many instruments or assemblies, such as tone generators and pedal
boards. It also has photos of instruments and circuity assemblies. It
has a photo, a complete circuit schematic pullout and two page technical
description on the Solovox.

Either of these books should be required reading for anyone designing or
repairing tube based electronic instruments.
