Yes TI has always had fine dev boards and plenty of accurate documentation.
MSP430 are one among many,anyhow Paul addressed the lack of app's but if one
reads further in the docs it says this new core are built to be code compatible
with existing 56k tools and app codes, that alone would give people a massive
amount of code to dig into.I suggest folks to sign in to their forum as
a starter.
