[sdiy] what modular format would you choose, and why?

Im soon to start re-building a lot of my modules, and am wondering as to the front pannel options.

At present i have a eurorack system, because i started off with doepfer modules, but, ive got (getting) rid of most of those now, 
and will be able to make up pannels for the others in whatever style i like.

I may go for black anodised 3u eurorack style pannels, but i may choose the larger 5u format, with its 6mm jacks.  Im really not too 
sure.

The pannels will be engraved by me, so, other than metal costs, the only financial cost differeces will be the pannel components.

Just wondering if theres any pro's or con's that ive overlooked.
