As the confusion continoues! :-)
It also depends what you refer to as high, 1 board next day delivery,
thats going to be quite expencive yes.
However Im sorry but i dissagree to some extent, you can infact find places
who makes bare bone PCB's thats a lot cheaper if you also negotiate with
them a bit.
All i can say are:
1:Look for PCB manufacturers in the former east block and Asia.
2:Never ever fal into the trap of pay for electrical tests for 2layer PCB's,
yes allright they what you to pay for that and they use all kind of wierd
exuses. They have managed to do 2 layers for 60 years, **suddenly* its very
difficult! Right it is.(talking about regular TH and SO8, 0805 not TQFP etc).
3:Always send qoutes to as many PCB manufacturers you can find to
balance prices among them for what you got, you will be supriced.
4:Newer pay for *any additional costs* they put on besides the total price
for making the PCB,things they like to claim are machine setup costs,
small volume cost, additional electrikal test and a myrriads of other
*invented* costs.
PCB manufacturers are a bit like used care sales men.
No wonder so many went under past 5,6 years.
