I have made a page:

showing what I know about problems with the original ALPS pots
wearing out due to downwards pressure whilst being turned.

This page also has some notes on the chipsforbrains replacement
pots.  These have been fine apart from the Resonance pots.  I have
one which was scratchy, and reports of another one which is
apparently scratchy.

I will keep this page updated as new information comes to light.
