Oh absolutely it's from the collision inducing some kind of spin on the
bullet I'd think mixed with whatever sound rings out from the thing it
hit. DIve bombing ...you're just hearing the resonances induced into air
by whatever parts are resonating under the extreme stresses. Dive flaps
and like that I'd think. No a bullet that rocochets is actually spinning
in a way that creates a functional oscillator and doppler effect. You
can do sounds like that on a DX7 or the like fairly well I'd think. -Bob
