The IDE is Eclipse, which is free.  The compiler suite is GNU, which  
is free.  The debugger is GDB, which is free.

Mmmmm.... GNU... Eclipse...GDB....

.... That lot should also work on OSX!   Suddenly this is looking a  
lot more interesting...
