I beleive they're free to download and use, but the code isn't open source.
I should be getting one soon, I'll let you know what I find if you wish.

maybe I'm being daft but modulars came before DSP and LCDs didn't they?
And the idea behind modulars was that you bought 'modules' as you required
them (or as you could afford them).

Ermmm, you could get them from somewhere like PCB-Pool, no?

Errmmm, part of DIY is not doing stuff for profit. or did I miss something?

isn't their a BOM with the board design?
It wouldn't take long to get a price per board.

awww, come on..
Why is it people have a problem with DSP synths, but they're happy to
listen to music via MP3s, their computers, CD players and cable/satalite
TV (all of which transport audio digitally!).

DSP synths offer a degree of felxability that is unobtainable by discrete
analogue hardware.
A well designed DSP synth can sound as good as an analogue synth.

FWIW, I don't care what makes a sound I like, as long as I like the sound.

If someone does manage to build a module to fit , for example, the MOTM
format that has a DSP that can be programmed that's gotta be a good thing,
hasn't it?

I'm not having a dig at you, but at the 'snobbery' that surrounds analogue
Vs Digital synthesis. We're here to make synths, not discuss didgital Vs
analogue.
