[sdiy] Does anyone record with audigy?

I should probably upgrade my setup. But for some time I've dealt with 
(since my old HD crashed and I couldn't get the drivers anymore that 
were on that one for audigy) an annoyance.   There is no way that I can 
see, to turn off the freaking 'thru' on the mixer in the soundcard.

In other words it's sending a monitor path past the sound card so that 
whether or not volume is turned on on the PC's mixer, you hear the 
sound.  However if output is not muted (or turned down or input turned 
down) you get a phased signal similar to what you get when you have a 
midi retrigger on an instrument so that your sound is tinny. 

In the old control s/w there was a way to turn this off.  I can't find 
one now!  Does someone have access to those old drives or know who 
might?  Getting help from CL is hopeless it appears. -Bob
