Makes sense. Plus it's 'greener' recycling/reusing and all. :)

Looking at the datasheets for those two chips, the '99 looks a lot nicer 
for a quick DIY project - fewer parts, smaller pkg, etc.

Interesting parts too. They look like they're essentially implementing 
the single-bit delta-sigma delay that's described here:

The '99 seems to do it monolithically - filters, modulator/demodulator, 
address & timing and memory all on one die. The '95 requires external 
memory but allows choosing the buffer size. Neat!
