[sdiy] Aztec Revisited

Every once in awhile I find time to tinker with this circuit. Past few
times I just fired it up and ran stuff through it just for fun but
today I made a little actual progress. I added the long planned
multiplier section which was inspired by Ian's 5Pulser circuit. With
this multiplier you can only get 4 pulses per input cycle and it is
also dependent on quantization depth and to some extent the shape
control. See schematic:

The pulses are generated by employing XOR gates which take their
inputs from alternating outputs of the LM3914s. Outputs of the gates
are then summed together through diodes. I need to test this at
different frequencies though to see how high I can get before the
pulses disappear into noise.

I also scrapped the output leveling feature because it just didn't
behave like I expected. I have a new idea for this though and
hopefully will get a chance to try it this weekend.

I have decided to change the name of this project. From here on out it
shall be called the Quetzalcoatl Quantizer. A bit of a mouthful but it
has a nice ring ;-)
