Subject: [sdiy] Making your own surface mount adaptors for useful chips
I've managed to build some SMD-DIP adaptor boards for useful but not-
available-in-DIP ICs. Full details are here:
http://www.electricdruid.com/index.php?page=techniques.smdadaptors
The chips in question are the Cirrus 192KHz 24-bit stereo DAC, a
bargain at less than a couple of pounds, but a pain in the
unbelievably tiny TSSOP10 package. The other is the new THAT2162 Dual
Blackmer VCA, which isn't quite so bad in a QSOP16 package.
Now I can play with these on my breadboard, hooray!
T.
