Thanks to what I have learned here I have been able to save my computer
twice now.
It's almost 4 years old, but I bought the best of everything I could
when I purchased it, and it's very overclocked. It's honestly still
faster than almost any new core2duo system I've used.

About a year ago it wouldn't turn on. It just made a constant beep
tone. I consult on computers for a living, and used to work at a
company building systems so I know the usual troubleshooting steps.
Nothing worked. Basically the bare motherboard still wouldn't give me
the proper beep sequence. It was very dusty, and I couldn't get it all
off. I figured I had nothing to loose so I got a bucket of distilled
water, dunked the MB in it, and scrubbed it all. I let it dry
completely, put it back together and it's worked until today.
I would have never tried that w/out all the info I absorbed from this
list.

Today is very humid, the system was really dusty again, so went through
the usual steps all the way through washing it.
I got a green led on the MB when I plugged it in. (means its off, but
the P.S. is plugged in) but still wouldn't power up.
Searched more and found a bulging capacitor. Replaced that, and it
started to power on, but never went into boot sequence.
Finally I removed the CMOS chip, sanded down the leads and re-inserted
it, and I'm back in business!!
Again, it was the troubleshooting steps I was taught here that let me
trace what was causing the problem.

I love this computer, and I couldn't find the same motherboard for sale
anywhere, so if I didn't get it going it would have meant a new system.

So... thanks again!!!
