The other thing about Unicorn, is that they do a lot of surplus.
So I guess the first lot of wire was surplus...
And the new lot is normal price, which has risen as well.

I'm a bit baffled... about a year and a half ago, I ordered three
reels of 24 gauge hook up wire from Unicorn Electronics (http://
www.unicornelex.com/). It's GC Electronics wire, part number
14-424-1B41. A 100' spool was $4.42. Now, 25' is $3.05 (different
brand). On the GC Electronics website, http://www.gcelectronics.com/
order/product_search.asp, type in the product number and the price of
the 100' reel I bought at Unicorn is now $23.86. What gives? Has the
price actually increased by more than five times over in the space of
a year and a half? What's going on here?
