The other thing about Unicorn, is that they do a lot of surplus.
So I guess the first lot of wire was surplus...
And the new lot is normal price, which has risen as well.

I'm a bit baffled... about a year and a half ago, I ordered three  
reels of 24 gauge hook up wire from Unicorn Electronics (http:// 
www.unicornelex.com/). It's GC Electronics wire, part number  
14-424-1B41. A 100' spool was $4.42. Now, 25' is $3.05 (different  
brand). On the GC Electronics website, http://www.gcelectronics.com/ 
order/product_search.asp, type in the product number and the price of  
the 100' reel I bought at Unicorn is now $23.86. What gives? Has the  
price actually increased by more than five times over in the space of  
a year and a half? What's going on here?
