I think it is more poor grounding as it comes and goes and I can't
quite figure out why (although this is just a mess of wires). I
think I'll try and find a DC motor so I can vary the speed and then
work on proper grounding

I'm thinking more of not using the delay line but using the
capacitive scanner. You could put 16 analog signals and mux between
them while spinning ...
Something about the mechanics just seems fascinating. Kind of like
tape echo instead of digital.
