Hi
DIP CA3140 is in stock at Farnell UK, over 13,000 in stock from Intersil.
Intersil still list DIP as active device, so not dead quite yet....!

I recently asked for help getting some ca3140 and i get a lot of help
including names of places where they are available. A couple of you were
afraid thet it may be no longer availble , which is what i thought. I
ordered some from Mouser and asked them about availability. I was sent and
was told that all you can find new are SOIC versions with the same pinout.
(.50 soic to dip turnarounds from Futurelec work well) So effectively the
Dip version of of the ca3140 is gone just like so many of those other rca
semis from the electronotes era.

NOS chips can still be gotten from smaller suppliers some with house
numbers (at least the 3086s I recently got)
