That is such a simple solution. It smacks of "Ok, we're shipping this
keyboard in 7 hours and we *need* to have a velocity sensitive solution
since marketing did a blitz on it for 6 months but just told us 15
minutes ago!"

I guess I've seen so many other ways of attempting to do it (and them not
really working) that I thought it had to be complicated....
