Hadn't thought of the key depress/release/uP idea,
though the coil techique sounds promising, what with
it having aftertouch. On that note (har) with that
setup you'd always have the aftertouch 'on,' so a
hybrid design would be in order if I only wanted
attack/decay sensitivity.

Hm... one could work a gate lag into the velocity uP, right?
