Ok, I'm confused.

I understand the arbitrary waveform modification thing, and a reference to a time
machine.  Are you saying that when applied to an arbitrary waveform it sounds like
crap (assuming you have a T.A.R.D.I.S.)?  Even if the waveform is not changing?

It also seems to me that the distortion is not just at zero crossing, dv/dt would
change for the entire waveform, so I'd think that the whole thing is distorted.
