Are you sure it's encoders in the Pulse? Aren't encoders always endless? 

At least on my Pulse the knobs have the usual turning range of about 270
degress, and I always thought of em as normal analog pots.

May be different with other (more expensive) Waldorf synths, e.g. the XT.
(IIRC, The Q does have endless encoders)
