32. Grew up playing guitar and had an interest in electronics from
about middle school age. Started with Forrest Mims books from radio
shack. Began merging electronics and music interests after converting a
Dynaco Stereo 70 to a guitar amp. (It was given to me by my High School
Physics/Electronics teacher. He couldn't understand why I had any
interest in tubes). Found out that high voltages are painful. Studied
EE in school, got the Barry Klein book from the library and started
experimenting. As a hobby it didn't really take off until the stars
aligned with some money (after graduation), some free time, and finding
MOTM and the other assembled, kit, and pcb dealers out there.
Thanks to the SDIY community and all of the people putting the time in
to make this hobby a realistic endeavor for me. PCBs are a luxury!
