me too :-)

i'm 41, which is about the median age, it seems. maybe this isn't a
coincidence - all the synth bands hit england when i was about 12,
and they had quite an effect on the generation who wanted music to go
somewhere else after Zeppelin, Queen, Rush, Genesis, all that, put a
cap on rock & roll. fortunately, it did! i never recovered from
seeing Tubeway Army on TOTP, set me off on a life of synths.

i got my first synth as an xmas present in 1980 when i was 13. from
then until i was about 20, i never went out, skimped and saved,
claimed unemployment, etc, all to buy synth gear. i was and still am
obsessed.

as for DIY, i soldered together a MIDI thru box when i was about 18,
it never worked, and so i gave up on it until about 3 years ago when
i started building MOTM kits with the help of an experienced friend.
never looked back, i built about half of my modular, love the DIY
stuff. just wish i could afford more!
