[sdiy] Way OT - Who's the oldest?

I'm definitely not the oldest, but I'm probably not the youngest either.
I'm 25.. I'm actually surprised that most on this list are in their 30's,
I expected most to be a generation or two older than that.

I've been on this list for a couple months now and it's always amazing to
read the discussion and hear about all the interesting ideas everybody has
(not to mention the incredible knowledge base which seems to exist here!)

My background is that I'm a software guy by profession and have always
done/preferred very low-level code. I've also always loved electronic
music. A little bit of synth diy exposure (kicked off by the x0xb0x
TB-303 clone project) really opened the flood gates, and now I'm back at
school doing my grad in computer engineering with an emphasis on
microprocessor/embedded stuff... and also ALWAYS have my hands dirty with
(slowly) learning analog circuit voodoo as well as doing some of my own
audio research.

I always thought amateur radio was really cool (and I've been licensed for
ages), but I never applied it because it was replaced in practical senses
by the pager, cell phone, internet.....

Synth DIY hits the same areas that I found interesting about amateur
radio, but things I make actually have practical application. I play a
live electronics/acid techno performance with my wife (how cool is that),
and have also been preparing to play live experimental music. It's so
wonderful to have the two hobbies (music and electronics) connect like
this
