Hi All,
Hoping for a quick answer here. There are a few utility projects I
want to whip up that use the 16F84, now obsolete. I don't want to
rewrite any code and in some cases cannot anyway because source is not
available.
This site: http://finitesite.com/d3jsys/16F628.html
Suggests that the 16F628 is an almost always direct replacement for
the 16F84. Whereas Tom at electric druid uses the 16F686 for his
VCADSR: http://www.electricdruid.net/index.php?page=projects.lfo9. I
though Tom originally used the 16F84 and I think I programmed such a
part with the ADSR code some time back. So, is the 16F684 a direct
replacement for the 16F84?
I only want to order one of these two parts as the 25 count is much
cheaper than the 1 count from mouser. Compatibility is the most
important attribute to me since I'm not really writing new code as
much as I'm using the code of others.
Thanks in advance.
