I've built a discrete phaser some years ago:

(Based on Univibe design.)
And of course in the TAU, the all pass stages are discrete as well.

Try finding Practical Electronic Music Projects by R. A. Penfold.
If memory serves he has a 3 transistor phaser design in there. It can
easily be cascaded for more stages.
I built it for fun many years ago and thought it sounded more like a
wahwah than a phasor though.
