Yeah, I'm getting pretty pissed off with this PSU now. Last night I
had to just put it down because I got so frustrated - I went out and
saw a local punk rock band to get the frustration out of me.

It's built in such a way that getting any direct measurements while
it's running are nearly impossible (space constrictions). If I can't
measure stuff I can't fix it.
Sooooooo, how about if I don't fix it? Yes I can go through and
replace the fixed regulators and zener diodes and pray it will work
properly OR I can scrap the entire pre-regulator circuit and graft in
something based around adjustable regulators which have better specs
than old 7815s.

Here's that schemo again.

Does anybody see any reason my idea wouldn't work?
M301, M302, D302, D305 and supporting passive stuff would all go bye
bye. The transplant would be the basic LM317 circuit from the app
notes.
I'm thinking it would be an improvement. Am I wrong?

Mike
