I played with several and because I was somewhat used to the interface and
the fact that Eagle runs on any OS that I could care to use it on ( I'm a
Mac person ), I wound up dropping the $1200 or whatever it was a few months
ago.

Proteus looked pretty nice and pricing was close. One thing to consider
about Eagle is continuing your support agreement isn't horribly expensive at
all. This was something I almost forgot to consider, then I started asking
some of the other companies how much support renewals were and my head
exploded. Many are not cheap at all. I can afford a large purchase like
this occasionally, but I couldnt even begin to consider spending that every
year to maintain a support contract at this time.

Oh, I'm sure others will warn you, don't waste your time on Autotrax EDA.
