You're correct about the value and the voltage. It's to help keep mains
borne interference out of the amp. In Europe you will need to fit an 'X1'
rated capacitor, (this is a special rating that is good for 230V AC,  is
'self healing', and will handle up to 4KV spikes). See

The standard fitting in Europe is usually 100nF. I got a large bag of them
in the last batch of scrap I bought. If you want a couple for postage cost,
