[sdiy] discrete/no-OTA VCO

i was looking over THE korg X911 the other day and thought (might be wrong) that the VCO was SIMPLY A FEW TRANSISTORS, A JEFT AND AN OPAMP? (AS WELL AS SOME DIVIDERS FOR DIFFERENT OCTAVES?) MIGHT WORK AS A STARTING POINT?

it got me curious...i have been wanting to find tiny discrete noise makers for awhile (been playing with UJT sawtooth gens and NEgistor oscillators as well)
