Press a piece of cardboard/wood/whatever against the resistor
bodies. Flip the board. Put it down on the bench, solder side up.
Solder the easily accessible leads. Cut them off. Repeat until all
leads are soldered.
Solder the lowest-profile components first. Everybody says
"resistors first". What they really mean, but for some reason,
don't write, is "straps first, DO-35 diodes second, 1/4 W
resistors third...".
An alternative is to bend the leads outwards after insertion so
the components don't fall off when you flip the PCB. It makes
desoldering a lot harder.
