A polysix is really nice sounding. Though it is limited by only one
envelope and only one VCO per voice
If you want a musical instrument, then get the money and buy a restored
Polysix.
If you want something to fiddle around on your workbench, which will
make a sound some day ;-) then look for a broken polysix with the
typical battery leakage problem. Either you will be able to repair the
board, or you may do, what I am planning to do:
I want to use it without the programmer board. Simply only with manual
setting. This requires to add some circuits that originally are located
on the programmer board (CPU reset, LFO, some parts of the Envelope
amount levels). After that I want to establish individual controls for
the VCO parameters (and maybe even for the other parameters). I have a
MonoPoly and I am a big fan of the arpeggiator with different VCO
settings. To have this with polyphonic VCF and VCA settings would be great.
