[sdiy] Evolution of the vocoder?

Since that Old Bob guy seemed kind of secretive about what vocoder he
used for some reason, I just assumed it was probably Native
Instrument's Vokator  which could do up to 1024 bands in the frequency
domain since it seemed like it would be well suited to something like
this.  But that was just my guess.
