No...but I finally put a phase detector on the output of my cheap, 
unstable, but phat VCO, and fed the inverse back into the CV in, and at 
long last have a crystalline, sterile VCO.

Seriously though, the answer to your question might be completely 
different if a soft synth, where resources are typically less limited, 
was being used...
