[sdiy] Reproductions of Vintage Synth Parts (how are they made?)

I've also felt tempted to buy these Jupiter-4 / SH series slider caps,
since they are far nicer in my planned synth than the new designs that
I've seen so far.

But I'm unsure if these slider caps really have a metal insert like
the originals, or if it's just a painted white line. It says "Exact
Replacement Replicas", but in the photo it looks white to me... if the
pic is not overexposed. Hard to know. Has anybody bought them, and
knows the truth?
