Yes, I had heard it, and it sounds great. But I can't attribute that to 
anything besides the relative tuning and the delay or echo effect that 
you apparently used in the sample.
Other than relative tuning, I think the only way a VCO could exhibit a 
specific "character" is by the shape of its waveforms. But would the 
saws, triangles and squares in early Moog and EMS VCO's deviate from 
that of any properly designed waveshaper to the amount that you can hear 
the difference?
