Hi,

Is this gathering open to anyone? I am a noob member, just built my first
diy synth (PAIA Fatman) after 40 years of thinking about it! This might give
me some ideas on what my next project should be (hope not to wait another 40
years!)

Ladies and Gents,

Neil has confirmed that we have July the 17th, 2009 for our next
Synth DIY UK gathering.
more details will be forthcoming in the next month or so.

I'd like to put an an appeal for donations of prizes for the
raffle, as we plan to restart this year. all money raised from the
raffle money will goto charity.

It's also been suggested that we see if we can get the original
five people, from the first meeting in 1999, there again.

   These are ;-

Tony Allgood
Colin Fraser
David Peachey
Chris Crosskey
and yours truly.

We're looking at what to do as a special treat as this is the tenth
anniversary of SynthDIY-UK. Sadly, we've been told we cannot have the
auditorium that is part of robinson college for a gig.

It's been suggested that we might try and get a gig or short set,
from a couple of our regulars (Gert Van-Santen from waveworld and Paul
Nagle), in the hall we hold the main event. we'll be speaking with
Paul and Gert and also guaging the amount of space we have available
for a gig.

I would also like to request that everyone who is bringing
something to show bare in mind a couple of things ;-

1) Space is limited, so please try and let us know what you're
bringing so we can be sure to have room for you

2) Power is EXTREMELY limited, so please no 2Kw PA for demoing your
synth

3) If you plan to bring a PA, please let us know and we'd ask that you
be willing to share it with fellow DIYers as PA resources are also
limited.

4) As with 2008's event, I would like only synths you have built or
heavily modified in the main room. There is a smaller room off to one
side, which can be used for commercial synths/sequencers and for
jamming.

Room booking will be up online in the next month or two, Neil will
post a message when it's up and ready to use.

If you have any questions, or would like to donate a prize, please
contact me off list.

We look forward to seeing you in July!

Paul
